Forty years ago today, the 6th of June 1968, Senator Robert F. Kennedy died after being fatally shot in the head by Sirhan Sirhan. Bobby was in the running for the democratic nomination for President and whether he could have made a major difference to the world as it is now is something no one will ever know.
My admiration for this man far outweighs any comments I could hope to write here in this little box so I won't ramble on as I often do.
I felt I had to draw something for Robert Kennedy, it's not much, but it's enough.
The quote on the image is from Teddy Kennedy's eulogy for his older brother.
My brother need not be idealized, or enlarged in death beyond what he was in life; to be remembered simply as a good and decent man, who saw wrong and tried to right it, saw suffering and tried to heal it, saw war and tried to stop it.
Those of us who loved him and who take him to his rest today, pray that what he was to us and what he wished for others will some day come to pass for all the world.
As he said many times, in many parts of this nation, to those he touched and who sought to touch him:
"Some men see things as they are and say why. I dream things that never were and say why not."
It's a good tribute piece. I'm glad you did something for him; without this, I probably wouldn't have thought about Kennedy today. Like you said: Simple, but enough.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
